Stanmer Park is Brighton's largest park and the main gateway to the South Downs National Park. Located just off the A27 between Brighton and Lewes, it offers 495 acres of woodland, open chalk grassland, and an 18th-century working village.

How to Get There

  • By Car:ย Use postcode BN1 9QA. Parking is available in designated pay-and-display car parks and is managed via the PayByPhone app. Blue Badge holders park for free.ย 
  • By Train:ย Falmer Stationย is a 10-minute ride from Brighton or Lewes, and just a short 0.3-mile walk to the park entrance.ย 
  • By Bus:ย Buses 23, 25, 28, and 29 frequently serve the Lower Lodges entrance. Bus 78 runs from central Brighton directly into Stanmer Village on weekends and bank holidays.ย 

Facilities & Accessibility

  • Accessibility:ย Recent restoration projects have significantly improved accessibility, including disabled car parking, Changing Places facilities, and Green Drive off-road pathways.
  • Opening Times:ย The park grounds are open to the public daily, though the Upper Lodges car park closes at 5:00 PM.ย
